Single row angular contact ball bearings can accommodate axial loads in one direction only. This type of bearing is typically adjusted against a second bearing. Their bearing rings have an upper and a lower shoulder and are non-separable.

Angular contact ball bearings mainly withstand large one-way axial loads, and the larger the contact angle, the greater the load bearing capacity. Cage materials include steel plate, brass and engineering plastics, and the forming methods include stamping or turning, depending on the bearing form or service conditions. The connection line between the steel ball of the contact ball bearing and the inner and outer full contact points is at the same angle as the radial direction. The contact angle is generally 15°, 30°, 40°.
